Who doesn’t love this movie! National Lampoon is known for it’s great comedy and Chevy Chase was at his prime. This film helps you appreciate your own family because you’re glad you don’t have his. It’s a great movie that everyone will enjoy and a great way to spend some quality family time together.

Here is another Christmas movie titled A Christmas Story. It was released in 1983 and has since become a holiday classic. It was directed by Bob Clark and depicts the story of a 9-year-old boy named Ralphie Parker who only wants a certain type of BB gun but is afraid he wont last till Christmas since he has issues with the bully Scut Farkus and friend Grover Dill. This is one of the most famous scenes of the movie in which one of the boys gets dared to stick his tongue on the flagpole and gets stuck.

Released in 1990 and directed by Chris Columbus, this is a great classic movie of the younger generation. While it’s main concern is not addressing Christmas, it most certainly has a Christmas theme to it. For anyone who hasn’t seen this movie I highly recommend it, anyone of any age would enjoy it. If you have kids, make them watch it! It will make them appreciate you a little more and maybe have them think twice before they have their temper tantrum.

Overall it’s a good movie that brings light-hearted laughter and the values of Christmas to everyone around the holiday season.

The remake of the classic TV short How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey as the Grinch and Taylor Momsen as Cindy Lou Who. If Jim Carrey wasn’t perfect for the role I don’t know who would be. His odd humor and eccentric facial expressions make him the perfect match to play this role. This is just a sample of the comedy he brings to this movie. I don’t tend to like remakes or sequels, but this one is fine in my book. If you haven’t seen it I recommend you watch it when it’s inevitably on this holiday season or rent it from your closest video store.

By far the most popular Christmas movie of all time. Everyone has read the book and seen this TV special many times. Created in 1966 and directed by Chuck Jones, it’s based of the popular Dr. Seuss book The Grinch. It’s a great movie to get in the Christmas spirit and remember that Christmas isn’ just about the gifts and decorations (although most people don’t seem to complain).

The Nightmare Before Christmas is an interesting story of a character by the name of Jack Skellington who lives in “Halloween Town” and accidentally opens a portal to “Christmas Town”. While this is one of the more strange Christmas films, it’s still a great classic (at least sicne 1993 when it came out). This clash between Halloween and Christmas is a very creative idea and I give much credit to Tim Burton who was the main person behind the making of this film. Here is another holiday classic,  A Charlie Brown’s Christmas special. It’s hard not to go a single holiday season without seeing this all over TV. Made in 1965 this TV special was based off the popular comic Peanuts. It aired in 1965 on CBS and only appeared once a year around holiday time. CBS aired it till 2000 when ABC picked it up. Today it aires many times througout the holiday season and continues to be a pivital point in Christmas celebrations.

This movie is by far my favorite holiday film. It’s the clay animation of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and I used to watch this every single holiday season. Christmas just wasn’t Christmas without our entire family sitting around the TV one night with some snacks and watching this film. I know this was made awhile back and I’m not sure what year it came out, but it must have taken awhile to produce that movie.

My favorite character in this movie is by far Cornelius, an adventrue seeking over the top bold Yukon man that helps Rudolph on his way. If you haven’t seen this movie I highly reccomend you watch it this upcoming christmas.

I know a lot of people might have already seen this, but this is amazing and I never get sick of watching it. I wonder how many hours it took them to do this!
